Ego

“You’ve been really mean lately,” she said to me.

After a pause, I answered. “Yeah, I have, I’m sorry.”

The Ego is as hard to describe as she is to shop for. Considerably more rational, realistic, and grounded (and don’t tell me those are all synonyms), she has the strength of will to commit herself to staying positive even when times are at their roughest. She indulges the Id and me where appropriate (and often, where inappropriate), but keeps us level. I call her my life coach for a reason.
